Metacognition - the ability to use prior knowledge to plan a strategy for approaching a learning task, take necessary steps to problem solve, reflect on and evaluate results, and modify one’s approach as needed.
In the school system students are evaluated on their Metacognition (In their learning skills) The problem with this is, they are never taught by teachers to be successful with this skill. It’s content over tool.
The process of peak performance requires addressing the problem with a proven plan, evaluation as we do every Saturday and Sunday and then modifying on Sunday after Saturday’s progress and adjusting by Tuesday to guarantee the strong rest of the week.
The process is the groundwork for progress. Emotions always take a back seat. Perceived crises are minimized and dealt with so as to not let progress get in the way.
Metacognition needs to be your strength.
